Cargo securement educational session slated for Alberta

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. — Alberta Transportation is hosting a town hall meeting regarding the new cargo securement regulations on Sept. 1 in Medicine Hat, Alta.

Alberta Transportation recently announced its extending the educational period for the new cargo securement legislation until Oct. 1.

The enforcement agency will be providing a PowerPoint presentation on the subject followed by a question and answer session. It will also have three trucks on display to demonstrate violations. The trucks will include a cargo van, a heavy-haul truck and a one-tonne service truck.

Coffee and snacks will be provided. The event takes place Sept. 1 at the Medicine Hat Lodge Ballroom at 7 p.m. For more information, contact Andy Barnes at 403-529-3540.
