CALGARY, Alta. — Despite efforts to have charges dropped due to insufficient evidence, the case against a truck training school instructor in Calgary will proceed as Judge Bruce McDonald refused to dismiss the charges.

Jaswant Singh was the head teacher at Delta Driving School when police operated a raid of the institution on the suspicion hundreds of Class 1 licences were being distributed to unqualified drivers.

Singh has been charged with forgery and breach of public office in connection with the raid and will have his day in court on March 10, when proceedings resume.

As a result of the case, Dr. Gurdit Bhullar was also charged with forgery and breach of public office; while the owner of Delta Driving School, Sukdev Singh Brar is charged with counselling fraud.
