LACOLLE, Que. — Traffic has been backed up at the Lacolle, Que. border crossing today as hundreds of custom agents set up picket lines to protest slow-moving contract talks.

The protestors formed a blockade at around 7 a.m. in both directions. Provincial police were called in and traffic has since been allowed to continue through the crossing, according to a Montreal radio station.

The customs agents who were protesting have been without a contract since last year. At some points today border backups were about an hour as a result of the protest.
