TORONTO, Ont. — ISO certification will now include elements of the Smart and Secure Tradelanes initiative.

ISO will now address the identification of existing security gaps, as well as propose solutions to global intermodal supply chain security concerns, through the development of standards for implementation by the international trade community.

The new program was conceived and launched by ISO/TC 8 and made official when Alan Bryden, Secretary-General of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) signed an agreement with General John Coburn, chairman of the Strategic Council on Security Technology with the Smart and Secure Tradelanes initiative.
