MTA offers U.S. H-o-S seminars

WINNIPEG, Man. — The Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) is offering members a chance to get up to speed on the U.S. hours-of-service rules at an upcoming seminar.

Representatives of the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will be on-hand Aug. 12 to discuss changes to the hours-of-service regime in the U.S., which go into effect Jan. 4, 2004.

Carrier profiles, load securement regulations and Hazmat background security checks will also be discussed at the seminar. A question and answer period will follow discussion on each topic.

The seminar is slated to run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Victoria Inn at 1808 Wellington Ave. in Winnipeg. Cost is $75 for members with subsequent registrations costing members $50. Non-members will have to pay $95 for the first attendee and $70 for additional attendees. Lunch is included in the price.
