North American trade conference set for Toronto

TORONTO, Ont. — Border Trade Alliance and the Canadian Association of Importer and Exporters will host an international conference entitled 10 Years of NAFTA focusing on trade between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.

The conference will take place June 28 to 29 at the Holiday Inn Select.

Among the topics that will be covered at the conference include those trade issues common to the three NAFTA countries, benefits/pitfalls of the C-TPAT certification process, the impact of increased border security on cross-border trade, and an introduction to ACI and CSA.

Speakers will include: Doug Doan, Office of Secretary Tom Ridge, U.S. Department of Homeland Security; Keith Thompson, Office of Trade Relations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Christopher Padilla, Assistant USTR for Public Liaison, U.S. Trade Representative.
