NSTSA to hold Hazard Prevention Program workshop

TRURO, N.S. — The Nova Scotia Trucking Safety Association will be holding a workshop to discuss Section 19 of the Canada Labour Code, which addresses the Hazard Prevention Program. Key components of the program, which came into effect Dec. 14, 2005, include an implementation plan; hazard identification and assessment methodology; hazard identification and assessment; preventative measures
employee education; and program evaluation.

The NSTSA has held two workshops recently to assist employers in developing Job Safety Analysis process for each of the jobs in their workplace as per the Hazard Prevention Program requirement.

The next workshop will be held at the Best Western Glengarry in Truro, N.S. June 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those interested in attending can register at www.nstsa.ca or by calling the NSTSA office at 888-329-9660. The deadline for registration is May 28. There is no fee for the workshop.
