CALGARY, Alta. — Less than half of the trucks inspected received a passing grade, during an extensive three-day roadside inspection during September in Calgary.

The Joint Forces Commercial Vehicle Check Stop was headed by the Calgary Police Services Truck Unit, which selected 447 vehicles for inspection.

The units were inspected for mechanical condition, load securement and operator qualification. During the three days of inspection 177 units received a pass from the inspectors, while 161 units were deemed out of service. The remaining 109 vehicles examined needed minor attention.
