Transport ministers gathering in Ottawa

OTTAWA, Ont. — Many provincial and territorial transportation ministers will have their first face-to-face meeting with their new federal counterpart, Tony Valeri today.

Federal Transport Minister, Valeri, will chair a meeting in Ottawa today along with Quebec Minister of Transport, Yvon Marcoux. The ministers will be discussing how governments can work together to address challenges facing Canadians in the transportation sector.

Also participating in the meeting are: Kevin Falcon, Minister of Transportation, B.C.; Ed Stelmach, Minister of Transportation, Alberta; Ron Lemieux, Minister of Transportation and Government Services, Manitoba; Harinder Takhar, Minister of Transportation, Ontario; Paul Robichaud, Minister of Transportation, New Brunswick; Wayne Steeves, Minister of Public Safety in New Brunswick; Ronald Russell, Minister of Transportation and Public Works in Nova Scotia; Gail Shea, Minister of Transportation and Public Works, Prince Edward Island; and Tom Rideout, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation in Newfoundland and Labrador.
