TORONTO, Ont. — The trucking industry was rocked by the report a Mississauga man died Sunday after being hit in the head by a piece of transport trailer.

The piece of metal was travelling at about 200 km when it pierced Fernando Martins’ windshield and hit his head while he was crossing Highway 401, said police. Martin spent 10 hours at Sunnybrook hospital before dying early yesterday. He never recovered consciousness.
