AirIQ Offers Reefer Protection

AirIQ, based in Oshawa, Ont., offers a Web-enabled wireless solution to protect high-value goods in refrigerated and heated trailers-in addition to its existing tracking and locating abilities. It uses on-board computing, GPS, digital maps, and a wireless transceiver to provide fleet managers information about their vehicles. The new Reefer Fault Alert reports a fault as soon as the reefer’s self-diagnostic unit detects it. Other benefits include the ability to take inventory of vehicles without having to physically count them; to retrieve lost or stolen vehicles quickly; to manage driver behavior by auditing historical route information; to begin and end dispatch shifts with management reports of the entire fleet’s activity; to receive boundary crossing and excessive speed reports; and to remotely disable stolen vehicles.
