ARLINGTON, Va. – Five America’s Road Team Captains have been chosen for the Healthy Fleet 10 Pound Challenge.

“America’s Road Team Captains are the public face of trucking’s 7.3 million professional truck drivers and the team has a strong platform for spreading positive health and wellness messages,” said ATA COO and executive vice-president of industry affairs Elisabeth Barna. “ATA extends our thanks to Healthy Fleet for choosing these five deserving Captains to participate in the challenge and we look forward to seeing them achieve their health goals in the coming months.”

The 10 Pound Challenge, put on by Healthy Fleet runs from New Year’s Day to the end of February. Participants will have 59 days to form healthy eating habits and activity plans in hopes of losing weight or reaching other health goals. Healthy Fleet’s team of nutritionists and coaches will assist participating drivers throughout the process, providing valuable information and feedback in order to produce lasting results.

“We see the 10 Pound Challenge as a great opportunity for truck drivers throughout North America to take a closer look at their daily routines and build healthier habits,” said America’s Road Team Captain John Lex, a participant in the challenge. “Like millions of other Americans who are entering 2017 with health goals, truck drivers need resources and support to become healthier. I’m excited for the challenge and am looking forward to seeing my fellow America’s Road Team Captains succeed.”
