APTA searches for judges

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA) Safety Council is preparing for the annual Atlantic Professional Truck Driving Championships.

The event — to be held on June 8, at JVI Commercial Driving School in Summerside, P.E.I. — will feature the regional driving championships as well as a full day of family entertainment. In preparation, however, the association needs to find the judges for the event as soon as possible.

The APTA Safety Council would like to have management or supervisor personnel fill the bill. Judges will be required to attend a pre-event judges’ meeting at JVI June 7, and will be required to report to the event field by 7 a.m. on the Saturday. It is suggested they bring a lawn chair, but lunch will be provided.

Please contact Chris McKee at the APTA office, 506-855-2782, if you wish to volunteer your services. Accommodation information is also available upon request.
