Awards of recognition doled out in Ontario

TORONTO, Ont. — A myriad of deserving people were honored yesterday at Ontario’s 33rd annual National Transportation Week Breakfast.

Daniel Einwechter, of Challenger Motor Freight, walked away with the prestigious Al Palladini Transportation Person of the Year award.

Other honors poured over members of the trucking industry included an award of recognition presented to John Goodings of J.D. Smith and Sons. Awards of excellence were presented to the Ontario Trucking Association for their Career Highway Video Series and Toronto Hydro for their Biodiesel Project.

The Colonel Robert Hardie Award of Lifetime Achievement was shared by Peter Lobraico of OK Transportation, Roy Curran of Roy Curran Transport, Doug Smith of Manitoulin Transport and Ron Guest of Inter-County Milk Transport.

The Ontario Freight Transportation Employee of the Year award was presented to Bill Dinino of OK Transportation and the Transportation Program of the Year was presented to the Ontario Air Brake Endorsement Program.
