Best Business Blog in Canada? Yup, It’s About Trucks.

TORONTO- We already knew that some real fine folks work in trucking. And as it turns out, trucking excels at many things, online blogs included.

Last night, Today’s Trucking Editor Peter Carter won the Best Blog Award from Masthead Canadian Publishing Online Awards.

Each year, Canada’s finest publications – in all trades and sectors- battle it out for the title as the finest online publication.

Carter and his blog, Pete’s Blog & Grille, went up against skillful competitors such as IT World Canada, Stem Cells Network’ Signals Blog, Ryerson School of Journalism’s The Ryersonian and University Affairs Magazine.

“When the announcer called out the winning table, I think it took people by surprise because of the other publications’ lofty titles. So Today’s Trucking got a huge round of applause and cheering,” Carter wrote in an email chain from colleagues, who all got together to congratulate him.

“I’m really proud of everybody and appreciate your support now and throughout the rest of the year,” Carter said.

On any given day, you can hear Carter say he loves writing about trucks and that he has the best job in the world.

You can read Pete’s blog here.

Amongst its gems, you will find Trucking’s Best 50 Songs, Trucking’s Best 40 Songs As Chosen by Our Readers, Passing the Tests of Time (when Carter had to renew his trucking licence) and a recap of Carter’s adventures at the Truck Rodeo in Quebec among many others.
