CBSA mandatory line release kicks in at end of month

WINDSOR, Ont. — Effective July 30th, 2007, changes to what is currently considered “exceptions” to the mandatory line release requirements at the Ambassador Bridge will come into effect.

On that date, all shipments that can be released on PARS will be required to do so and will not be permitted to off-site locations in order to prepare a release.
This, advises customs brokerage firm D. Dent & Associates, primarily impacts OGD freight like produce, meats, or nursery stock etc.

Carriers should communicate closely with the importer’s broker to find out about current exceptions.
