Challenger Brings Lodwick, Cam Hiltz Under Brand Umbrella

CAMBRIDGE, ON. — Challenger Group is putting its name and colours on its temperature controlled and waste haulage divisions — Lodwick Transport and Cam Hiltz Trucking — the company announced last week.

Lodwick will be known as Challenger Climate and Cam Hiltz as Challenger Bulk. Additionally, operations from both divisions are being moved into Challenger HQ in Cambridge, ON., beginning March 1, although Challenger said it will still maintain office and yard space in Mississauga.

“It’s a lot of work,” said Geoff Topping, general manager of the newly-named Challenger Climate and Challenger Bulk. The decision, he told todaystrucking.com, was in part to strengthen the Challenger brand but also to make things easier for customers. “No more calling here, then having to call over there… now it’s all in one place.”

Both divisions will not be changing their names legally, Topping explained. “They’ll still say ‘operated by Lodwick or operated by Cam Hiltz,'” after the paintjobs are completed — a process that will be ongoing throughout 2013, Topping said.

Challenger acquired Cam Hiltz in 2002 and Lodwick in 2007.
