Class 8 Truck Orders Hit Six Month High

COLUMBUS, IN – Class 8 new and net orders hit a six month high in October, according to a recent report by ACT Research.

New orders came in at 29,824 units while net orders landed at 28,026 units.

This order flow, ACT said, points to a strong end in 2011 with production at or above 250,000 units. It will also set the stage for 2012.

Kenny Vieth, president and senior analyst at ACT, said that the news from carriers is good. "Expectations for future freight and profitability are upbeat."
