Contrans makes La Belle purchases

WOODSTOCK, Ont. – Contrans Group got a little bit bigger today with the acquisitions of two St. Barthelemy, Que.-based bulk haulers — Enterprises S&S and Logistique Barthelemy.

In a press release, Contrans said it expects the acquisitions will produce annual revenue of between $12 and $15 million from its fleet of tractors and open top bulk trailers.

"We are excited about this opportunity to expand our service capabilities in this market," stated Contrans’ Chairman and CEO Stan Dunford.

"We believe there will be growth opportunities for our bulk operations in this region and, with a larger presence, we will be able to take greater advantage of them."

Contrans is 13th largest for-hire carrier in Canada.
