Custom bunk builder rolls into Kingston

KINGSTON, Ont. — A company that builds custom bunks mainly for expedite transport trucks is setting up shop in Kingston, Ont.

Alumi-Bunk Corp., a North American installer of customized sleeping bunks and medium duty cabs and chassis, will build a $7.5-million facility just off Hwy. 401 at Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard.

Alumi-Bunk, which is also a supplier to Snap On Dealer Trucks, was founded in 1979. It currently has a 60,000 sq ft manufacturing plant in Dundalk, Ont., about an hour’s drive west of Barrie. Its American offices are spread through Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta and New York.
