EDMONTON, Alta. — Edmonton’s long-time transportation head, Wayne Wood, has accepted a new position as director of corporate communications with the City of St. Albert.

Wood has headed Edmonton’s transportation and street’s department for 12 years, and his career change opens up the demanding position of transportation leader.

“They posted the position and I threw in an application and I managed to become the lucky candidate for it,” the 44-year-old tells local media.

He starts his new job July 2, and the City of Edmonton will immediately begin looking for a replacement.
