Florida to offer CDL testing only in English
All driver’s license knowledge and skills examinations in Florida will be administered exclusively in English starting on Feb. 6.
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles said language translation services will no longer be permitted for knowledge or skills examinations, and printed exams will only be available in English.

Previously, knowledge exams for commercial learner’s permits and commercial driver’s licenses were available in English and Spanish. In addition, most non-commercial license classifications were offered in multiple languages.
Separately, the Florida Senate Transportation Committee advanced a bill that would require law enforcement to detain truck drivers who are in the United States illegally. It would also fine company owners for these violations. Similar legislation is under consideration in Arizona.
