Former Daimler exec to lead WheelTime Network

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The WheelTime Network, a truck care and service network with 200 locations in the U.S. and Canada, announced the appointment of Mike Delaney as president and CEO.

Delaney — who most recently served as senior vice president of marketing for brands, Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star, Detroit Diesel and Mercedes — will lead a variety of new strategic initiatives designed to expand the breadth of WheelTime services and capabilities and employ innovation across all systems and customer services.

A veteran of brand growth, Delaney was once also vice president of marketing at Volvo Trucks North America and as vice president of marketing for the Transport International Pool (TIP) unit of GE Capital.

“I am excited to be back on the service side of the industry," Delaney said. “I have always felt that there are tremendous opportunities if we can fundamentally change the way truck services are provided.

"The industry wants and needs support that is more oriented toward the way fleets do business, and this is exactly the group to lead the way.

WheelTime was established in 2004 as a strategic alliance amongst all of North America’s Detroit Diesel-Allison distributors. The goal was to adopt and implement a common set of quality metrics that would help them monitor and continually enhance specific service performance criteria as defined by customers.

"The WheelTime Network is made up of experienced, highly rated service providers with a deep background in handling the most complex repairs," said Delaney. "The members are financially solid, and unified in their desire to create a service network that is second to none. It’s the perfect platform for growth and innovation.”
