Hamburgers ‘n Hogs at Arrow’s customer appreciation BBQ

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — If there’s anything true truckers savor more than a ride in an 18-wheeler, it’s a spin on a heavy-duty two-wheeler. Preferably a Hog.

That’s why one of Canada’s pre-eminent used-truck dealers, Arrow Truck Sales of Mississauga, Ont., is having a double-barreled supplier-and-customer-appreciation day Thursday, Aug. 24. And the starring attractions will be their lineup of Volvo trucks along side a bevy of new Harley Davidsons, courtesy of one of this country’s oldest and most respected Hog dealers, Mackie Harley Davidson.

But, according to Andrew Ballenthin of Arrow’s marketing and sales division, the barbeque and customer-appreciation day isn’t designed to move trucks or bikes as much as it is to show respect and gratitude for their customers’ and suppliers’ loyalty.

He adds, of course, that new or potential customers and suppliers are welcome to join in the fun. No RSVP required.

In addition to the barbequed food and refreshment, there will be door prizes.

The daylong event takes place at Arrow’s headquarters, located near the corner of Dixie and the 401. (Go north to the Husky and turn left on Shawson Drive.) The fun goes from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

“It’s our way of acknowledging the people in the transport industry who work with us plus it’s a sign of respect that they’re enduring some tough cycles in business.”

Get it? Tough cycles? Harleys? Never mind. Just go have a burger on Arrow.
