Hankook performing well in Canada, abroad

BRAMPTON, Ont. – Despite the rising cost of raw materials for the rubber industry, Hankook Tire says its second quarter global sales reached CND $1.2 billion, a 13-percent increase over 2009.

The boost was driven by solid business performance in the emerging markets such as the CIS region, Latin America, and backed by stable growth in North America, China, and Europe, the fast-growing Korean company says.

In Canada, the company says it continues to perform well and is leveraging its new western distribution centre to increase marketshare.

Hankook Canada is also stepping up its brand awareness amongst Canadians, which the company says is helping the brand recognition grow here.
