Joan Wilson to manage truck shows

TORONTO — Joan Wilson, a face familiar in the trade-show world and a veteran of the trucking-industry, is the new manager of Truck World and ExpoCam, Newcom Business Media announced this week.

Newcom — the largest trucking publisher in Canada — owns and operates the pre-eminent industry shows in Canada and produces this website as well as Transport Routier, Today’s Trucking, highwaySTAR, Truck & Trailer and Logistics Magazines.

Truck World is scheduled for April 15 to April 17, 2010, at the International Centre in Toronto. For the first time, the event will include the Vocational Truck and Equipment Expo, bringing upwards of 50 new and exciting exhibitors to the annual extravaganza. Wilson brings more than 20 years of experience to her new position. In the mid-‘80s, she was Show Coordinator for Truckcan (the predecessor to Truck World) and ExpoCam.

Later, at Southex Exhibitions, Wilson was Sales Manager and then Show Manager on these major events. Wilson joined dmg world media as Marketing and Operations Manager on ExpoCam and she also worked on CamExpo.

In addition, she was Marketing and Operations Manager for the ISA and Graphics Canada trade shows. Her most recent posting was Operations Manager at SME Canada Industrial Shows.

“We are excited to bring Joan back into the trucking world. She is familiar with our organization and of course with the industry at large.
