Kansas fuel tax on the rise
TOPEKA, Kan. — Truck owners beware; according to the State Laws Newsletter, Kansas will increases the surcharge levied against those running its highways.
On July 1, Kansas will raise the rate of diesel tax from 23 to 25 cents per gallon and its gasoline from 21 to 23 cents.
Also the legislature has cut out transfers to the highway fund of $145 million annually in sales tax collections.
Truck registration fees will also see an increase from $2 to $10 per vehicle.
