Mack to offer SteelLite X30TM drums
TROY, Mich. — ArvinMeritor’s SteelLite X30 lightweight brake drum is now available on Mack CH, CX, CL, RB and RD600 series tractors.
The drums have a one-piece design with no weld seam, providing extra strength and durability, according to the manufacturer.
These truck models are used by truck operators in logging, dumping, mixers, refuse transfer, coal hauling, utility jobs and stop-and-go hauls.
“Our component will enhance the vehicles’ excellent performance,” says Scott Ronan, director, Marketing and Strategic Planning, Brake Division, ArvinMeritor.
According to the company, the competitively-priced X30 brake drum is lighter
than standard full-cast drums and is available on axles ranging from 34,000lb GAWR (gross axle weight rating) to 46,000 GAWR.
