Mack Trucks Launches Skill Contest For Technicians

ALLENTOWN, PA-Mack Trucks has launched the Mack Masters Competition, a skill contest for technicians in its dealer network.

Over 200 teams and 991 participants from each region – Canada, Central, Northeast, Southeast and West U.S. – will test their hands-on skill and knowledge of Mack systems and procedures.

The teams will first compete in a three online challenges dealing with products, systems and diagnostics, in March 2015 before competing in a hands-on competition. The winning team will be crowned on June 16, 2015, at the Mack Customer Care Center in Allentown, Pa.

“Mack technicians and support teams have immense pride in what they do for Mack customers and are always looking for ways to be even better,” said Stephen Roy, president of Mack Trucks North American Sales and Marketing. “Challenging service and parts personnel to prove their mettle ultimately will improve their speed and accuracy, leading to reduced downtime and more satisfied customers.”

Five finalist teams will be announced in April at the Aftermarket and Soft Products UPTIME conference in Dallas, and will compete at the hands-on competition.

The Mack Masters Competition is run by the Mack Trucks Academy which develops aftermarket support and service training programs for Mack Trucks.
