Markel offers value added product and service

Markel Insurance Company of Canada has released Version 5.0 of its Markel Advantage Software, which
contains five complete modules to help owner-operators and trucking companies organize their drivers, vehicle, and fuel operations.

In addition to previous features like Accident Register and Driver Pro-File, this latest release contains three new modules: Fuel Tax, designed to help drivers organize and manage their fuel costs and pay taxes on time; Vehicle Maintenance, which organizes, customizes, and tracks schedules and costs for routine and preventative maintenance; and Vehicle Information, which lists and keeps track of all tractors, trailers, and other equipment. Each module contains a corresponding set of reports that can be customized to meet the needs of the individual operator or trucking company. The software is free and available exclusively to Markel customers.

A second value added product the company has introduced is “Ask Markel,” a new toll-free assistance phone line developed to assist smaller trucking companies and provide timely information on issues regarding compliance and regulations, hiring practices, border-crossing, as well as safety and training programs. The line will be managed by personnel from Markel’s Safety and Training Services department. Customers can call 1-800/MARKEL-1 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. across North America.
