Meritor promotes Nelligan, Stevenson

TROY, Mich. – Truck component and systems supplier Meritor appointed John Nelligan general manager, OEM Sales & National Accounts.

Nelligan replaces Dennis Kline who recently retired from the company after 36 years. He will report directly to Joe Plomin, vice president, Truck Americas.

Nelligan, a Canadian, is responsible for Meritor’s OEM customers in North America. He will also retain responsibility for Meritor’s large national accounts.

He most recently served as general manager, North American Field Operations.

For that role, Meritor has appointed Matthew Stevenson, who was most recently with Daimler Trucks North America.

Stevenson will be responsible for leadership of the North America field sales team, service, training, fleet and dealer relationships and Meritor WABCO field sales. He will also retain responsibility for product marketing in North America supporting the company’s Truck, Trailer, and Specialty business units.

Prior to joining Meritor in 2009, Nelligan spent four years as dealer principal and GM at Harper Truck Centres in Mississauga, Ont. He has also previously held executive positions at Daimler Trucks North America and Western Star Trucks.
