Michigan to Review Hazardous Materials Ban on Ambassador

DETROIT — Hazardous materials may soon be allowed to cross the Ambassador Bridge.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is currently re-evaluating the ban, which mostly includes household items.

MDOT urges the public to note that they won’t be allowing radioactive or other similar materials.

In an interview with the Michigan Radio Newsroom, Rob Morosi, a spokesperson for MDOT said, “It’s vitally important to know that we are not going to allow explosive or radioactive materials. What we are looking at is things like propane tanks.”

The government is taking input on the issue until May 27. For more information, click here.
