Penske Increases Natural Gas Vehicles, Over 200 By Year End

READING, PA — Penske Truck Leasing has announced that they will add 100 compressed natural gas (CNG) tractors to their rental fleet.

“Many full-service truck leasing customers continue to evaluate using natural gas vehicles (NGVs) within their truck fleets while others are quickly adopting the use of NGVs to meet their sustainability goals,” said Penske Truck Leasing’s Art Vallely, executive vice president of operations. “We’re encouraged by the interest we are seeing from customers with regard to NGVs and we are fully capable of assisting any fleet with their natural gas powered truck needs.”

Penske estimates that by the end of 2013 it will have over 200 natural gas tractors in its fleet. The tractors will be available for full-service truck leasing and commercial truck rental customers.

The new CNG vehicles are Freightliner Cascadia tractors equipped with Cummins Westport 12-liter engines.
