TORONTO — A Montreal man has been charged for the murder of Donald Woods, a trucker who has his trailer full of chicken stolen.

Donald Woods, 35, was found dead last June from a gunshot wound in the cab of his truck in a Pickering, Ont.

Police believe he was killed for $40,000 worth of frozen chicken that could have been later sold in Toronto.

Durham Region police, with the assistance of Montreal police, arrested Paul Cyr, 49, in Brampton last Friday. He is charged with first-degree murder, forcible confinement, using a firearm in an offence and theft over $5,000, police said.

His wife Nicole Woods appealed for months to the trucking industry for help in finding out what led to her husband’s death.

Don Woods also leaves behind a 13-year old son.
