Saskatchewan rewards top drivers

SASKATOON, Sask. — The top drivers in Saskatchewan were crowned this weekend at the provincial truck roadeo, and the provinces top drivers are preparing to advance to the national finals.

This years’ provincial winners won’t have to travel far for the nationals, with the event slated to take place in Saskatoon in September.

The winners in the provincial championships were: Keith Parker, Purolator Courier, step van; Larry Radons, Reimer Express Lines, straight truck; Brian Weslowski, SLH Transport, single-single; Vern Matschke, Calac Trucking, single-tandem; Les Bueckert, Earl Beebe Trucking, tandem-tandem; Marlen Peterson, Cameco Corp., b-train.

Radons scored the highest points in the southern region with Peterson best representing the northern region. Radons also took top honors as the grand champion with the highest total points over class average.
