LOGAN TOWNSHIP, NJ — Brian Shantz has been named director, dealer network development and operations at Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America. A veteran of the company, he is currently general manager, Canadian operations. The new role is additional. Effective immediately, Shantz will be responsible for dealer network development for all of MFTA’s North American operations, which cover the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Guam.
Shantz joined Mitsubishi Fuso in 1999 as the director of sales for Canada and was solely responsible for all of the company’s dealer sales here. Earlier in 2015, he was promoted to the Canadian general manager position, and he’ll retain those duties as well as his overall responsibility for directing dealer network development. Prior to joining MFTA Shantz worked for Navistar, McCleave Leasing, and Volvo in positions of growing responsibility.
In making the announcement, MFTA’s president and CEO Jecka Glasman noted, “Over the years, Brian has proven to be a valuable asset to MFTA. We have just finished an evaluation of the dealer operations role and its responsibilities, and have revised the position based on that evaluation. We’re confident that Brian’s career experience, both in his tenure at MFTA and before, makes him the perfect fit for this new position.”
Based in Japan, Mitsubishi Fuso is part of the Daimler Trucks Division of Daimler AG with a 30-year history in North America. Its class 3-5 diesel-powered, medium-duty cabover trucks are available through more than 200 dealer locations in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, and Guam.
