MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Shaw Tracking hoping to ease the border crossing process by providing updates on important documentation.

The communications company announced the availability of ACE status notification through CrimsonLogic to OmniVision and OmniTRACS units. CrimsonLogic ACE customers can now receive ACE status notifications directly to OmniVision or OmniTRACS units.

ACE status notifications include important information for crossing the border, such as the customs broker’s entry number when they clear PAPS shipments or when an ACE manifest has been accepted by CBP.

Knowing this information before a driver gets to the border is essential for ensuring a smooth border crossing and will save drivers from having to make phone calls to the broker or back to dispatch.

"In the new era of border security, there’s a new mantra of ‘know before you go’ and with the ability of real-time border events being sent directly to the driver in the cab of the truck we’re leveraging off technology and empowering the carrier of tomorrow," said James May, CrimsonLogic’s business development manager.

Once set up, dispatch can store the complete list of driver profiles, including driver names and e-mail addresses in the CrimsonLogic application.

Every time dispatch selects a driver in a manifest it will automatically associate the events for that ACE manifest to the OmniVision or OmniTRACS unit for that driver.
