SmartWay Verifies Michelin Rubber
GREENVILLE, S.C. — Plenty of selection for trucks to keep on the road this season as three more Michelin retreads have been added to the SmartWay-verified technologies list.
With SmartWay-verified dual drive, trailer treads, wide single-drive and trailer treads, Michelin say they will have full coverage of SmartWay retreads for over the road.
“Retreads represent about half of the tires on the road. Michelin agrees with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SmartWay program’s overall strategy of including retread products to reduce the fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions of line-haul Class 8 trucks,” said Ted Becker, vice president of marketing for Michelin Americas Truck Tires.
Michelin’s list of SmartWay-verified retreads include:

Pre-MoldTM for trailer applications
Michelin XDA2 19 AT Pre-Mold TM
Michelin XDA2 23 AT Pre-MoldTM for drive axle applications
