Spring weight limit ban lifted in parts of NS

TRURO, N.S. — Spring weight restrictions on some Nova Scotia roads were temporarily lifted this week.

Cumberland, Colchester, Pictou, Guysborough, Antigonish, Richmond, Inverness, Cape Breton and Victoria counties are now ban-free. The restrictions are lifted until 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, until further notice.

Unseasonably warm weather prompted early spring weight restrictions which usually only take place in March and run until May 1.

The restrictions will remain in effect until further notice in Yarmouth, Shelburne, Digby, Annapolis, Queens, Kings, Lunenberg, Halifax and Hants.
