FREDERICTON, N.B. — Truckers should brace for a summer of chaos when travelling through Fredericton thanks to work on the main bridge across the St. John River.

Since trucknews.com reported the lane restrictions on the Westmorland Street Bridge earlier this week, further reports now show anticipated delays of more than an hour to get across as traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction.

“Everybody is going to have to deal with this,” says city official Kathryn Baird. “In the morning time, it’s already busy with two lanes in both directions. You can imagine it being squished to one and going slower.”
