The ‘Ultimate’ Battery

East Penn Mfg. has introduced the Deka “Ultimate” battery, which the company says uses a patented silver lead alloy that maximizes life expectancy in extreme conditions and high under-hood temperatures. The battery also uses ultra-pure electrolyte and an added electrolyte reservoir to retard plate dry-out for longer, maintenance-free life. Special plate paste improves reactivity with the electrolyte to provide more power-per-pound.

Reinforced “full-frame grids” prolong battery life with twice the wire diameter of normal grids, the company says. Negative envelope separators reduce internal short circuits caused by plate shedding and growth. The battery is offered in six BCI-group sizes; 25, 35, 34/78, 58, 65, 75 Dual Terminal, and 78, with up to 790 cold cranking amps at 0° F.
