Tom Payne Jr. of Payne Transportation LP named 2013 MTA Service to the Industry Recipient

WINNIPEG, Man. – Tom Payne Jr. of Payne Transportation LP was recognized as the 2013 recipient of the MTA / RBC Royal Bank Service to the Industry Award at the Manitoba Trucking Associations (MTA) annual fall awards gala on Thursday November 14, 2014.

Recipients of the MTA/RBC Royal Bank Service to Industry Award exemplify the conduct that garners the respect and esteem of one’s peers and have conducted themselves in such a manner as to have gained the esteem of their fellow members, and brought credit to the trucking industry through their contributions.

Payne Transportation LP has been active members in the MTA for well over a decade and have supported numerous MTA activities whether through attendance or sponsorship.

In addition to supporting the MTA events, Payne Jr. has served on the board of directors and executive committee. Tom is the past president of the MTA and was instrumental in taking the lead on the MTA’s first strategic planning process.

Payne Jr. has over 30 years of experience in the Transportation sector and provides his advice and direction to several Boards including serving as a Director on the Board of the Canadian Trucking Alliance for a number of years, he is a founding Director of CentrePort Canada, and on the Board of Directors at Winnipeg Airports Authority.
