Toronto to host ITS World Congress

TORONTO — Toronto will host nearly 4000 transportation technology professionals at the Sixth World Congress on Intelligent Transportation Systems Nov. 8-12, 1999, the organizing committee for the event announced.

The event is co-sponsored by the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) and ITS Canada. It will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in downtown Toronto.

The ITS World Congress is the largest international gathering focusing on the use of advanced computer, electronics, and communications technologies in surface transportation.

“Each ITS World Congress is a ‘big tent,’ to develop consensus from the diverse views of a diverse ITS world community,” said John Collins, president of ITS America.
