OSHAWA, Ont. — Know a kid in Durham Region that’d like to get up close to trucks and other interesting vehicles?

They’ll have a chance Aug. 23 at the first annual Touch-a-Truck event, sponsored by Global Spectrum. The event is free to attend, and will feature vehicles of all shapes and sizes.

Children will have an opportunity to learn about the various vehicles from the drivers. It will be held Aug. 23 from 5-8 p.m. at the GM Centre.

Proceeds from food and beverage sales will go towards Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Among those contributing vehicles to the event are Mackie Group, Oshawa Fire Services, Ventura Towing and Two Men and a Truck.
