TransForce gets recommended dose of dairy

MONTREAL — The head of Canada’s largest dairy processors was recently named to the TransForce Income Fund Board of Trustees.

Effective Feb. 27, Emanuele (Lino) Saputo will join the TransForce board. He was a significant investor in TransForce’s predecessor company in its earliest days and has contributed to the growth of the fund. Directly and indirectly, he remains a major investor.

“We are honored to welcome Mr. Saputo to the TransForce Board of Trustees. His experience in building companies will help him make a valuable contribution to the board and to the unitholders of the fund,” said Alain Bédard, chairman, president and CEO of TransForce.

Saputo is the founder and the chairman of the board of Saputo Inc., the largest dairy processor in Canada. Similarily, TransForce has grown to become Canada’s largest for-hire carrier offering a broad range of transportation services through its subsidiaries.
