TransForce to buy Transport Mirald

MONTREAL (Aug. 7, 2002) — TransForce said today it has agreed to buy Transport Mirald, one of Quebec’s largest truckload carriers.

TransForce, a diverse ground transportation and logistics company based in Montreal, did not disclose financial terms. The transaction is expected to close on Aug. 16.

Headquartered in Boucherville, Mirald had annual revenues of $24 million in its last fiscal year, TransForce said. Gérald Lacaille will remain as president of the company.

“Mirald Transport has established a solid presence in the truckload transborder sector, and the acquisition will reinforce our activities in this key area of our business,” TransForce president Alain Bedard said in a statement.
