On the Spot: Mack Command Steer tire failure simulation
Okay. So, we’re going to do another demonstration with command steer. You can see traffic cone placed up here just by this curb. You can see the curb is about maybe nine, ten inches down off the, the main part of the road. So, I got my right front wheel right along the white line here right now, And I’m just going to ease it over till I get to, the curb and drop it off.
And it didn’t yank out of my hand. It stayed nice and straight.
I have my fingers lightly on the wheel just steering it over the curb. So again, no yanking of the wheel out of my hand as they went over the curb. We’ll do it one more time here. Just going over the curb now, off the curb. Thank you. And it didn’t pull or yank me to one side. So that’s a nice safety feature if you should be driving off the highway.
Or indeed, if you had some trouble with the steer tire, I think that would really make the moment a lot less interesting than it would otherwise be.
