Hino Motors reveals 2017 258 model

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Hino Motors released its new high horsepower Hino 258 model recently.

The new low profile truck is powered by Hino’s 7.6L diesel engine producing 230 horsepower and 520lb-ft of torque. A high horsepower engine option is available producing 260 horsepower and 660 lb.-ft. of torque on the 217” wheelbase model. When paired with a 6-speed Allison Fuel258LP_high resolutionSense automatic transmission, the Hino 258 gives extra boost in power perfectly suited for towing and recovery applications.

Eric Smith, senior vice-president of sales and customer support at Hino Canada said: “Hino has long enjoyed a loyal following from tow operators. The Hino 258 High Horsepower model is an exciting addition to Hino’s expanding product line…This new product is ideal for tow operators that require optimum performance and durability in extremely difficult conditions.”

The new trucks will be produced at Hino’s Canadian assembly plant in Woodstock, Ont.
