CALGARY, AB – Chris Nash will be the incoming President of the Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) when current President Lorraine Card retires March 5.

Card says she’s confident she’s leaving the association in good hands with Nash who brings more than 30 years’ experience in the transportation industry to the role.

Joining the AMTA board in 2016 as the Edmonton regional director, Nash was nominated and elected as vice-chairman of the board shortly thereafter in April 2017. He sits on many other committees, and is also a board member with the Canadian Trucking Alliance.

“We feel confident that Chris’ leadership skills and vast experience will continue the AMTA’s momentum in shaping vital legislation, while raising the standards of safety and excellence in commercial transportation,” says Grant Mitchell, Chairman, AMTA Board of Directors.

Nash’s transportation career began in 1987 with Byers Transport. From Byers he moved to Rainbow Transportation, and then Jones Transportation in 2004 as manager of safety and maintenance. His hard work and dedication led him to the position of President in 2015. Nash has also owned and operated his own trucks, and maintains his Class 1 license.
