ATHENS, Ga. — A new program is available to help owner/operators and fleets finance purchases of ComfortPro Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) from Carrier Transicold.

Terms are being offered by Lease Corporation of America (LCA), a company that provides a full range of equipment financing solutions for customers of dealers, distributors and manufacturers of essential use business equipment.

APUs are a great way for truckers to reduce idling and emissions while also complying with regulations, said Eduardo Andrade, business manager of special products for Carrier Transicold. Were supporting them with financing options that ease the initial investment burden so truckers can start reaping the benefits of an APU.

Carrier selected LCA as a preferred supplier for its customers based on LCAs its flexible terms, responsive support and trucking industry experience providing millions of dollars of financing for thousands of APU purchases, Andrade said. LCA, established in 1988, financed its first APU in 2001.

An APU has a relatively short payback time, but financing the purchase can provide positive cash flow right from the start, Andrade explained. Its not unusual for monthly fuel-cost savings to more than offset monthly installment payment.

The ComfortPro APU is a leading anti-idling solution for the trucking industry, providing air conditioning, heating and household electrical current for a truck sleeper cab, as well as battery charging and truck engine warming.
